School leaders need visibility without turning teacher support into surveillance

A connected system should help leadership remove obstacles, not reward data volume or standardise every classroom.

01

The signal

Leadership needs to understand curriculum coverage, implementation barriers and where support is needed. Teachers need professional trust and freedom from monitoring that exists only because the system can collect more.

02

What the evidence asks us to notice

  • Show aggregate patterns before individual detail.
  • Use data for support with a stated purpose.
  • Give teachers access to the same information.
  • Avoid ranking teachers from incomplete classroom data.
03

The Asmbly lens

Asmbly’s school views should begin from implementation and support: missing curriculum content, adoption friction, class needs and workflow completion—not a leaderboard of teacher activity.

04

A necessary limit

Role-based access and school policy need to define who can see learner and teacher information, for what purpose and for how long.
