The problem the framework addresses
Offline-first is a promise about continuity. It requires explicit decisions about which data lives on the device, how changes are queued, what happens during conflict and how the teacher knows whether work is safe.

- Encrypted local storage and role boundaries.
- Recovery after long periods offline.
How it applies inside Asmbly
Asmbly prioritises timetable, lessons, attendance, marks and teaching materials as core offline work. Sync should happen quietly but never invisibly when there is a risk of conflict.
The boundary
Offline storage increases device-loss and privacy risks. Security, logout behaviour and school device policies must be part of the implementation.
